We treat grooming into terrorism, criminal exploitation and other harmful activity as safeguarding concerns. We consider specific behaviour and circumstances; a child’s faith, ethnicity or lawful opinions are not in themselves evidence of risk.

We encourage respectful discussion and check the suitability of activities, visitors and online resources. Staff raise concerns with the safeguarding lead and seek advice from the appropriate safeguarding or Prevent professionals. Immediate danger is reported to 999.

We involve parents where safe and appropriate and share relevant information lawfully and proportionately. We do not investigate suspected networks ourselves or ask children to confront people who may be exploiting them.

Contact [DSL] about a concern, or use the external reporting routes in our Safeguarding Policy. Safeguarding action will not wait for an ordinary complaint to be completed.
